It fits solo service professionals whose clients message or call, rather than book through an online portal. If your day is already arranged over WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram DMs, or the phone, a booking platform adds a step nobody asked for.

How a day in the app works

The app has four tabs — Calendar, Clients, Finance, and Settings — over one local database. A typical booking takes a few taps:

1. A client writes or calls. You open the calendar on the day view, week view, or month view and pick a free slot; working hours are set per weekday, so empty time matches your real schedule.
2. You attach the client from your list — or import them from iPhone Contacts — and add one or more services to the visit, each with its own price and duration.
3. The app flags overlapping bookings, and you can drag an appointment to a new time in the day and week views when plans change.
4. As the visit approaches, a local push reminds you. One tap drafts the message and opens SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, or Instagram — you read it, and you press send.
5. Afterwards you set the status: booked, completed, cancelled, no-show, or partial payment. Partial payments feed the debtors list on the Finance tab.

Reminders you stay in control of

The app never messages a client on your behalf. It schedules a local notification for you and prepares the text; opening the messenger and sending is your decision, which keeps the conversation in your own account and your own voice.

Not online booking software

Booksy, Fresha, Acuity, and Square Appointments are built so that clients book themselves through a public page. Pocket Client Book is the opposite: you enter appointments yourself in a local diary, and no client ever sees a scheduling interface.

• No public booking page and no client-facing portal
• No team seats, staff rotas, or salon administration
• No monthly platform fee for the everyday scheduling work
• No account to create and no password to lose
• Works fully offline after install — in a basement studio, on a train, on a plane

That trade is deliberate. You give up self-service booking; in return nothing about your clients leaves the device, and the calendar keeps working when the connection does not.

Where the data actually lives

The app has no backend. There is no server that holds your client list, so there is no server that can leak it — which matters when your notes are confidential.

• The whole database is stored on the device and protected by iOS Data Protection
• No account, no sign-up, and no analytics or tracking
• The only network traffic is App Store purchases and, with PRO, your own iCloud Drive
• PRO backup writes a file to your iCloud Drive that you control — it is a backup, not a sync service
• Backups can also be exported and restored as .json or .pcbbackup files from Settings

Requirements

Pocket Client Book: Diary runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17.6 or later, including Split View and Slide Over on iPad. It needs no internet connection to work, and no Apple ID beyond the one you already use for the App Store.
